Service Description

No new projects will be started until September 2013, but applicants can submit at application now.

Emergency Repairs: Addresses active leaks within the living space as well as loss of heat but has also addressed other concerns such as door replacement after a break in. Projects are completed year round, applications are always accepted.

Home Modifications: Provides accessibility improvements to elderly or disabled homeowners. Home modifications are adaptations to the living environment to increase accessibility and ease of use for a person with limited mobility. Included projects are wheelchair ramps, grab bars, stairs, bathroom and kitchen remodels and more. Projects are completed year round, applications are alway accepted.

Eligibility

Applicants MUST MEET ALL 3 requirements: 1) be the homeowners, 2) low-income determined by HUD at 50% of median income or below, and 3) elderly, disabled, a family with children, or an Iraq/Afghanistan veteran. Households must also live within the service area (Pierce County, Federal Way or Auburn), must not be planning to sell the home, and must be current on their mortgage and taxes.
