Service Description
Provides financial assistance to income-eligible households to help with heating and other energy bills. Qualified households will have a fixed amount paid to the utility company toward their bills depending on their housing type, household income and energy use. Program also provides limited assistance for furnace repair and replacement, and offers referrals to weatherization and insulation programs. Funding provided by the federal Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and by Puget Sound Energy's Home Energy Lifetime Program (PSE HELP). Appointment line gives prompts in English, Russian and Spanish. Operators speak English, Russian and Spanish, and have access to interpreter services.

Eligibility
Income-eligible residents of Shoreline and North Seattle zip codes. Overdue bill and/or shut-off notice NOT required. Social Security Number NOT required. Eligible residents may receive assistance twice per program year (once per funding source, when applicable). Household income must be at or below 125% of poverty level (based on family size) for PSE HELP funds, and at or below 150% of poverty level (based on family size) for LIHEAP funds.
Application Instructions
Call the Energy Assistance Appointment Line for central intake to set an appointment. Appointment line is automated, so calls can be made any time, 24 hours daily. Phone line automatically makes a certain number of appointment slots available each day. Call every day until offered an appointment time. Be prepared to listen closely to the recording and write down all documentation required at the appointment.
Clients with emergencies (no power, Seattle City Light 24-hour shut-off notices, Puget Sound Energy urgent notices, or empty oil or propane tank) will be given a separate emergency number to call. Clients must still call the automated line to get the emergency number.
Clients with emergencies who are house bound with verifiable disabilities may call the CAMP office line to discuss other means of applying for assistance.
It takes 6-8 weeks for energy company to receive grant.
Documents Required: Social Security cards for adults, ages 18 years and older. Proof of household income for full past three months. Shut-off notice (only for emergency walk-ins). Verification of all children in household (Soc Security card, birth certificate, school record, immunization record or DSHS Services Cards/Medicaid for each child). Proof of current address (lease agreement, mortgage statement or utility bill). Q1, Q3 and Q10 forms from WorkSource for every unemployed adult, ages 18 and older, in the household.

Office: M-F, 8:30am-5pm. Food Pantry: 1st and 3rd weeks of the month. Seniors/Clients with Disabilities: Tu, 10:30am-12:30pm. 2nd and 4th weeks of the month: General Public: Tu, 5:30-6:30pm; W, 10:30am-12:30pm.
