Service Description
Provides non-contested marriage dissolutions (default or agreed divorces), legal separations and establishment of a parenting plan in non-contested (agreed) cases when the father has already been determined. Language and American Sign Language interpreters are available for appointments. People may also bring their interpreter with them.
Procedure: 1) client completes application to determine eligibility; 2) attends meeting with program manager to start drafting legal documents; 3) Client meets with program manager to pick up legal documents and then files papers at the court. SHP no longer has the "classes," instead all meetings are one-on-one with the program manager. Attorney does NOT represent clients in court.

Eligibility
Clients must be low- to moderate-income and be residents of King County.

Court fees are $280, if not waived by the court.
