Service Description

Provides two types of Education Grants: General Education Grants and new Scholarship Education Grants.

General Education Grantees will receive up to $5,000 over a one-year period. They are eligible to be reconsidered for one additional $5,000 grant, up to a maximum of $10,000 in total General Education Grant funding. In order to be reconsidered, General Education Grantees must continue to meet WWIN’s eligibility criteria and educational benchmarks.

Scholarship Education Grantees will receive up to $5,000 over a one-year period. They are eligible to be reconsidered for up to three additional $5,000 grants, to a maximum of $20,000 total over their college careers. In order to be reconsidered, Scholarship Education Grantees must continue to meet WWIN’s eligibility criteria and educational benchmarks. Scholarship Education Grantees must be entering their first or second year of a four-year Bachelor’s degree program.

Both General Education Grantees and Scholarship Education Grantees can use WWIN funding to pay for tuition, mandatory fees, and required books and supplies at the approved Washington college or university of their choice.

Eligibility


Low-income women, ages 18 and older.
No restrictions regarding marital or family status.
Eligibility is determined on a case by case basis.
Students whose tuition is fully covered by other grants and scholarships are not eligible for funding.

Next grant opening will be in spring 2015.

You will need to have been accepted to a school that accepts Federal Financial Aid and the WWIN grant, have filled out a FAFSA and received your award letter prior to applying.
There is one page of the application that your school will need to fill out so it is recommended that you print out the application on campus.
