Service Details

Service Description

Provides child care subsidies to low-income families in need.
Families receiving the subsidy pay a monthly copayment based on income.
The Seasonal Child Care program helps eligible families pay for child care while they work in agriculturally related jobs in select counties.
The Homeless Child Care program authorizes four months of full-time care for eligible families as they move into and verify participation in approved activities.


Subsidies may be applied to:
- Licensed or certified child care centers
- Licensed or certified family child care homes
- Relatives who provide care in their own homes
- Adults who come to your home to provide care.

Eligibility

Households with parents who
- Are homeless OR
- Are working OR
- Are participating in a DSHS-approved work activity AND
- Have incomes below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.


For seasonal child care
- Families must work in seasonally available agricultural employment which is directly related to the cultivation, production, harvesting or processing of fruit trees or crops.
- Families must also live in one of these counties: Adams, Benton, Chelan, Douglas, Franklin, Grant, Kittitas, Okanogan, Skagit, Walla Walla, Whatcom or Yakima.

Fees

Clients are subject to a copay based on monthly income and the number of people in the household.
Co-pay is waived for participants of the Homeless Child Care Program.
Minimum co-pay is $15 per month for those under 82% FPL.
Co-pay is $65 per month for those between 82-137.5% FPL.
For those between 137.5-200% FPL, subtract 137.5% FPL from countable income, then multiply by .50 and add $65.
